This AGM would have been the unofficially marked 100th AGM held by the Kokni Muslim Association. \nWhat a remarkable milestone! One hundred years is nothing short of a victory for our small\, yet very strong community. Over the years\, we have witnessed immense growth and are happy to boast our achievements painted with the colours of gratitude and appreciation of all our founders; chairmen; and dedicated members who selflessly volunteered in service to our community.\nThis AGM was the first of its kind. It birthed the election of Aalia Abdul Kadir Hawa\, the first female as Chairlady of the Kokni Muslim Association. In what was an open election process\, the members of the Kokni Muslim Association also appointed a new Managing Committee consisting of Saqib Khambiye as Vice Chairman\, Nazma Mukri as Secretary\, Asad Alimiya as the Assistant Secretary\, Muzzamil Khambiye as Treasurer\, Maleehah Al-Haddad as the Assistant Treasurer\, Hanif Sangrar as the Immediate Past Chairman and Committee members consisting of Shazma Mukri\, Hassan Abdul Ghafur\, Abdul Wahab Alimiya\, Dr. Imran Khares\, Ayaz Bhigba and Rafia Khan. \nBhaudin Khares\, Sayed Hassan Al-Haddad\, Hanif Khan\, Hussein Mukaddam and Abdulaziz Alimiya were appointed as Trustees.\nMembers enjoyed a delicious spread of biryani and zarda\, with the most decadent gulab jamuns for dessert. Members gathered in their support to fund raise for the upcoming KMA Centenary Celebrations by purchasing the left-over food in what was a fun and interactive auction initiated by Bhaudin Khares and Rafia Khan. \nHaving the members of the community together and encouraging the interactions between the many spectrums of age groups is what makes this community vibrant and unique. The function was facilitated at our grounds in South C on 11th September\, 2022 at 11am. \nDr. Samnakay highlighted the fact that both\, benign and cancerous prostate conditions ranked in the top five medical problems worldwide. But he also clarified that much progress has been made over the past decade in diagnosis and treatment options so that even cancer of the prostate is curable if men present themselves early to the urologist. Men should seek medical advice whenever they notice a a reduced force of the urinary stream\, increase in urinary frequency by day or night\, blood in urine or pain during urination. The most important point he made was that an annual medical checkup to include a PSA blood test for all men over 40 years of age was absolutely vital. \nAn interactive session with the audience was most beneficial. With 17 attendees\, it was a refreshing and interactive session carried out from 8.30am to 4.30pm. After a beautiful Quran recitation\, we drove right into the basics of First Aid which included CPR\, how to apply bandages\, recovery position\, Heimlich Maneuver for choking infants and adults\, disaster management and much more. The session included a Practical and Theory segment along with group discussions and presentations to ensure the nail was hit right home. During the breaks\, scrumptious snacks and lunch were served. The youths were inspired by the work done by other organisations. The other organisations mentioned that they will support us in our events as we have supported them. The youths enjoyed mixing with other youths from different organisations and learning new things. They were a total of 150 people who attended the event from different organisations. \nAlhamdulillah all went well and returned back safely.
