RE: RAMADHAN / IFTARI PROGRAMMES 2010.
We wish you all Ramadhan Mubarak. We extend our invitation to all our members to the following programmes arranged during the Holy month of Ramadhan.
a) IFTARI:- Will be held at our Masjid Bukhari on the following days. Saturday 21st August 2010./ Sunday 29th August 2010 Time 5.30pm. Time 4.00p.m. The Managing Committee and ladies sub-committee are collecting funds from members and well wishers to cover the expense of the above IFTARI. Please contact any committee member for your contribution.
Needy Children Iftar Will be organized on Sunday 15th August 2010 and Sunday 22nd August 2010. Any members who wish to participate in the distribution please contact any Religion Committee member. Your contribution will also be welcomed.
b) QURAN RECITATION COMPETITION.:- Our Annual Competition will be held on Sunday 29th August 2010 at Masjid Bukhari as from Asr prayers (4.15pm). Registration will stricktly take place at 3.45pm to 4.15pm. Iftar will be served thereafter Inshallah. Participants will strictly be categorized in six groups. Age 2-4years, 5-7years, 8-10years, 14 – 16 years, Adults.
We remind all parents to encourage their child to enter the competition. All participants will receive gift vouchers. We request all participants to recite a Quranic verse for the competition in order the judges rank them fairly. Recitation time will be 3 minutes maximum.
c) Zakat / Fitrana.:- During the KMA Iftari functions the committee members will be collecting Zakat (21/2 pct of Annual Savings and / or any other wealth) and Fitrana (21/2 Kgs of rice or cash kshs.250/- per person every household). Collection will be handled by Brother Sameer Khambiye and his team during the Iftaris.
d) Masjid Bukhari Appeal for Running Expenses.:- The running of the Masjid Budget is over Kshs.45,000/- per month, which includes Imam / Muadhin salaries, maintenance and cleanliness, light & water, etc. Some members have already been contributing and earning their Sawabs. We appeal to the rest to come forward and contribute. Payments can be made on Monthly, Quarterly, Half yearly or yearly.
e) Sponsorship – Hafidh-ul-Quran students.:- Our pledge for two students every year is continuing at a total cost of Kshs.30,000 per child a year. Your support has been very encouraging and Inshallah look forward to your positive response.
f) Taraweh Prayers:- will be conducted every day after Isha prayers 8.15pm. A short lecture will be conducted after prayers.
g) Itikaff::- The last ten days of Ramadhan will be observed at our Masjid. All interested members please register your names with Brother Abdulaziz at your earliest.
h) Volunteers:-We shall be grateful to receive names from our youngsters to participate as volunteers during our function. Please register with Brother Abdulwahab.
